Following in his wife´s footsteps, Celine received the distinction in 1998, the 67-year-old joined the ranks as an officer of the national order, conferred on men and women for outstanding achievements who were born or are living in Quebec. "It´s a great honour" said Celine, who was also supported by his daughter from his second marriage, Anne-Marie, and son-in-law Marc Dupre and of course Rene Charles. "I´m touched, I´m very proud to be a Quebecer". Established in 1984, the Order is bestowed by the provincial government and is one of the most prestigious honours in Quebec. Non-Quebecers can also be inducted to honour their friendship to the province.

The sixth edition of the Intermediary for the life of Repentigny marked a turn mattering in the history of event. The step allowed to accumulate more than $305 000 which will go directly to the fund for research against the cancer. The father, Adhémar, died himself of a cancer here is six years. It would have celebrated its 64th wedding birthday at the end of week with "Maman" Dion, of her true name Thérèse Tanguay. The family even financed a flight of fancy of doves, guarantee of peace and hope. Least that they can say, it is because the sixth edition of the Intermediary for the life of Repentigny was made in big. The step, which took place in the park of the school Entramis before, moved its pénates to the park of the Island Lebel this year. "The park of the Island Lebel is very vast and allows to receive many more walkers" said Jean-Claude Lelièvre, from the organizing committee. If last year 62 teams composed of 9 - 15 walkers had registered in the Intermediary for life, this year, the number almost doubled, with not less than 113 teams which met to support reason. This increase among walkers had of course an impact mattering on the accumulated sum, which is crossed of $190 000 last year to $305 000 this year.
